The brand seem to have perfected the formula of the knitted upper through the Adidas NMD. Each year, we have seen the Three Stripes release different iterations of this similar material fused with a cushiony sole. Though these features are purposeful, they are also incredibly stylish and very much on-trend. Pair these with joggers and a basic tee to highlight the low-top construction and texture of the shoe. These materials are consistently lightweight so as not to weigh the foot down.

Experimenting on a different route, the Essentials is the brand’s attempt to bridge the gap of the underserved market that is the teenagers. According to their research, those that are within the ages of 14-19 are continuously searching for fresh and stylish pieces, which the new line aims to provide.

Though not a fashion brand, the Adidas Essentials mimics the strategy of fast-fashion companies like Zara, H&M, and Forever 21 are doing. According to the Three Stripes, it aims to produce six pairs a week to quench the demands of its consumers who are always looking for something new. Fun, fresh, active, and connected are all the qualities that it aims, and these can be all seen on every item. Taking account the profile of the teens, its pieces keep up with the trends but stay within a budget-friendly price point.

To seal all the mentioned qualities is the use of Cloudfoam on the midsole, and later on, the sockliner. The Adidas Questar Flow, one of the items under the Essential’s line, utilizes the technology,

  • Some of the available colorways offered for these are Cloud White, Core Black/Active Orange, Raw Khaki, and Core Black.
